About Us
Today’s performance textiles are often built by layering functionality on top of a base material through coatings, finishes, laminates, or harsh chemical treatments. We are taking a different approach. By integrating performance into the textile architecture itself, we aim to reduce manufacturing complexity, improve long-term durability, and open new pathways for scalable, sustainable advanced materials.
We also see enormous value in overlooked resources. Bio-based materials, biological waste streams, and ocean-waste-derived inputs can become the foundation for high-value textile systems when paired with the right science and engineering. What has historically been treated as waste can become a strategic materials resource for stronger, cleaner, and more resilient supply chains.
Based in Boone, North Carolina, we are proudly rooted in Appalachia. Western North Carolina has a deep legacy in performance fabrics, agriculture, manufacturing, and material innovation. We believe this region can help lead the next era of textile technology, and we are committed to building that future from here.
With support from Appalachian State University, NCInnovation, and a growing network of research, commercialization, and industry partners, we are advancing from laboratory validation toward prototype development, performance benchmarking, intellectual property development, and scale-up planning.
Our mission is to transform sustainable material resources into advanced textile systems that strengthen domestic manufacturing, reduce waste, and deliver performance for the world’s most demanding applications.
Through our interface engineering platform we aim to build the future of protective and advanced textiles from the heart of Appalachia.
